Before television and radio, the piano was the most popular form of entertainment in the family home. Almost every household had one, so an enormous amount were produced to accommodate demand. Sadly, as other forms of entertainment began to take over, the piano was neglected - either thrown out or left untouched and un tuned.

Best known for his Dixieland jazz band, the Uptown Shufflers, Dave Wilson is a man with a mission. Passionate about pianos, he has no fewer than 18 in his current collection, most of them in the throes of restoration. He specializes in saving the Victorian family piano, restoring them back to their former glory after decades of neglect. This is possible not only through the skill of Dave and his team, but also due to the fact that these pianos were so well crafted to begin with. As well as the older piano, Dave restores the more modern upright, as well as grands and pianolas before offering them for sale, for as little as £195. From basic tuning through to re-stringing and total re-hauling, as well as French polishing, removals, piano hire and valuation, Dave Wilson covers the board at highly competitive prices. Since 1985 Dave has sold in excess of 1500 pianos and tuned over 3000 within the Strathclyde region. |
